#kleverdetox

Hi friends!

In order to keep my self in check with my February Goals <----click here for that post,  I opted for a diet/regimen/detox that would help me lose those 5 lbs. I had promised myself. I went to Barnes and Noble with a friend last week and flipped through a few fitness magazines that looked promising. After a first glance to Whole Living magazine and their 21 day Detox plan, I said "this is it!" and so it has been for the last 5 days.

Let me tell you how I got here:

1. over worked
2. lack of time to eat a home-made meal
3. drive thru food

These three things triggered a rapid weight gain that's been in steady increase since last September. Now, I've never been thin (actually I think I've been overweight my whole life) but I've always considered myself a healthy person except for my anxiety problem I developed last year but thank God that's under control and I feel great now...maybe I'll make a post about how I keep my anxiety in check...
Anyway, as I was saying, though I've never been thin, I have always being careful about my food consumption because I know that as I get older, it will be more difficult to lose or even maintain my current weight.

This Detox is SIMPLE yet COMPLICATED, here's what I mean:

Simple: Recipes are all laid out for you, all 45 of them (plus more online)
Complicated: I created a list of the groceries I would need the first week and it requires many spices I didn't already own so, for the first week I've spent about $100 so it can get pricey.

Simple: The first week is ALL vegetables, breakfast, lunch, dinner (a little fruit for breakfast smoothies). I looooove veggies so this part was easy enough for me.
Complicated: When I came home with my 1st week groceries, I could hardly fit them all in the fridge!! I mean, think cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Kale, Romaine lettuce, and many other huge things....

Simple: The meals are delicious. I have loved every single one of the meals.
Complicated: It takes at least 1 hour per meal to prepare. (3 mins. to devour it!)

People have asked me if I'm hungry (considering the meals are all veggies and humble portions) and my answer has been "no". I didn't feel hungry until my 4th day. For some reason, the 4th day was my hungry day....all day...until dinner when I made the delicious Roasted Portobellos with Kale then I was in heaven!! I'm making this meal time and time again forever!!

Please follow me on Instagram at: www.instagram.com/klevergirl then do a search for this hashtag #kleverdetox to see most of my meals go up as I create them.

To join me in this crazy detox, you can find the entire thing here. Have YOU ever done any sort of detox or diets? tell me about it!! How did you manage??

  2. I have a friend who detoxed but I don't know why. She was always so skinny with a glowing complexion. My big thing is kicking the chai tea out of my diet but no luck. I love it. Good luck with your detox! I am now a new follower!

  4. Despite the fact that I don't always practice what I preach, I used to teach people how to detox properly. Here is a link to a post I wrote that lists a lot of what you need to do:

I have to say that the food you prepared looks lovely, clean and healthy! Beautiful photography!
